The Day That Never Was
It could have been a good day
To take another walk
To say what we were thinking
To listen and to talk
It might have been a good time
A few hours at the most
To share some special moments
Just standing at the coast
It should have been quite easy
Though I know it would not be
But that one last day together
Was snatched away from me
So sad the way it ended
Without a kiss goodbye
Alone with thoughts and questions
I cried a little cry
It could have been a good day
It might have been alright
We should have had a moment
To hold each other tight
I’m not bitter, I’m not angry
But I’m still a little sad
That the day that never was
Was a day we could have had
