Love in a Cold Climate

Love in a Cold Climate

Frosted windows etched like lace
Icy curtains frame this place
Icicles like frozen fingers
Breath that on the cool air lingers

Burning logs that scent the air
Big old couch for us to share
Blanket big enough for two
It’s cosy being here with you

Hold me close and hold me tight
In the flickering candlelight
Take my hand and lead me there
Through the door and up the stair

When our naked bodies meet
All we need is body heat
We fit together like hand in glove
Our limbs entwine as we make love

And still outside the cold winds blow
Whilst here we feel the afterglow
And our two bodies are as one
As winters’ freeze goes on and on

Stolen Moments II

Stolen Moments II

Like a thief in the night
You come to me
This is not how
It is meant to be

Moments stolen
When and where
Are not the sort
I want to share

Wondering when
The next will be
Isn’t the life
I want for me

I may be shallow
I may be wrong
But stolen moments
Just can’t go on

Stolen moments
Are getting tough
Stolen moments
Are not enough

Stop thief, stop
I must call time
And get on with
This life of mine

Night and Day

Night and Day

I can’t “kiss it better”
I can’t “make it right”
Nothing makes sense
In the dead of the night

I’ve said “I am sorry”
I’ve no more to say
Nothing makes sense
In the cold light of day

I tried “to be friends”
But vainly I fear
Perhaps in the future
All will be clear?

“Farewell” and “goodbye”
There’s nought else to say
Nothing makes sense
At the end of the day

Champagne Summer

Champagne Summer

My mind wanders back
To a year long ago
When my glass was full
And my heart all aglow

We walked hand in hand
And stood by the shore
Both of us wondering
What life had in store

We laughed and we talked
That very first night
Both wide awake
Until dawn’s early light

I wonder if he recalls
Our first breakfast together
When we tried to look calm
And talk of the weather

Or that very first sip
Of sparkling champagne
Or that walk in the park
In the warm summer rain

Just memories now
But they’re still crystal clear
Of that champagne summer
Of that champagne year

My Virtual Lover

My Virtual Lover

He comes to me at dead of night
His fingertips are feather light
Along my spine they gently go
To show me that he loves me so
Although I know that he’s not here
I feel his breath, I feel he’s near
A virtual kiss, a virtual touch
Reminds me that I’m loved so much
The feeling’s real but at morning light
My virtual lover’s taken flight
But when I slumber every night
My virtual lover holds me tight

With Eyes Shut Tight

With Eyes Shut Tight

With eyes shut tight
I see his face so clear
His smile, his eyes
The way he combs his hair

With eyes shut tight
I hear him breathing near
My senses are intense
I feel that he is here

With eyes shut tight
The world is just we two
Sharing hopes and dreams
Just like we used to do

With my eyes open wide
I quickly realise
I only fantasise
With eyes shut tight
